Triad Stage reaches special campaign goal, turns focus to upcoming season and beyond

"Greensboro, N.C. – Triad Stage announced today that it received 278 new and/or increased gifts totaling $504,883 as part of a special fundraising initiative to address current and future challenges for the professional not-for-profit theater.
“This is an incredible demonstration of the community’s support for Triad Stage,” said Founding Managing Director Richard Whittington.  “It also comes at a critical time as we are making proactive changes to ensure Triad Stage’s long-term future.”
Earlier this year, Triad Stage announced several changes to its operating model aimed at ensuring its continued success.  These new initiatives include an expanded partnership with UNCG; moving to a seasonal model of programming; reducing operating costs by 21% and properly capitalizing the theater.

“The success of the $500,000 Special Campaign was really the first step of the journey,” said Whittington. “Now the hard work begins to implement the changes we are making and continue producing the highest quality theater for the Triad.”

The theater announced its 2016-2017 Season in February, which will feature eight productions including George Bernard Shaw’s Arms and the Man and Arthur Miller’s The Price, which is slated for a Broadway revival next spring, along with the return of its family-friendly holiday shows in both Greensboro and Winston-Salem. Season Passes are currently on sale, and options include a 3-play Season Pass in Greensboro and/or Winston-Salem as well as a 6-play Triad Pass that combines programming in both cities at an even deeper discount.  Individual tickets go on sale August 1.
“We are so fortunate to live in a community that values our work and we need the community to continue playing its role by attending our plays, buying season passes and supporting the work with donations.”
Tax-deductible donations may be made online at www.triadstage.org/support, by calling the Development department at (336) 274-0067 x201, or by mail or in person at 232 S. Elm Street, Greensboro, NC 27401.
