WHEN: Saturday, May 28, arrive at 4:00 p.m. at Whole Foods Market Greensboro-Friendly for a complimentary bike safety check and refreshments, ride leaves promptly at 4:25 p.m.

WHY: Biking with Whole Foods Market is a social group bike ride centered on the health, environmental and financial benefits of commuter biking for trips within 5-10 miles of the home. Participants will see where local biking routes and paths are in their community, learn how to bike with groceries, and experience the bike commute to their local Whole Foods Market with a group.

Biking with groceries is where fitness meets food. It's a way to multitask fitness and build a habit of buying and eating more fresh foods. Making a bike ride to the store every day or two instead of stockpiling with a car allows a person to get regular exercise and get into a cycle of eating fresh. By hosting this new ride concept, Whole Foods Market is not only teaching people how to eat organically, but showing them how to live organically.

"Whole Foods Market is the best place to experience whole foods that work to help your body work effectively," said Anthony Douglas, My City Bikes Alliance supervisor. "The reason Whole Foods Market and biking are necessary for whole body health is the same reason fuel is a necessity for any machine. Our bodies feed off of fuel and movement. Without the proper fuel and maintenance, the machine will stop. The whole purpose of My City Bikes is to show you where to start. That's the Whole Foods Market group ride. This bike ride starts at Whole Foods Market because a large part of body optimization is riding a bike. A bike is the second most important fuel for your body to maximize its full potential. The first most important fuel is food. Whole foods."

All participants are required to wear a helmet for the duration of the ride and complete a participation waiver. Participants can learn more about the local ride and pre-register by submitting their registration waiver at lifeisacycle.bike.
